University Language Programme (ULP) Information Event

Event info

  • 17th September 2025
  • 12:00
  • City Campus
  • This event is free

Are you interested in learning a language?

Then come along to our University Language Programme (ULP) Information Event to find out all about learning a language at NTU. A tutor for each language will be available to chat with you and answer any questions you have about which language stage you should join, how languages are taught and assessed at NTU and the benefits of learning new language skills or building on your existing ones.

The University Language Programme (ULP) offers a range of languages and stages, from beginner to advanced, to all NTU students. You can study a language module in addition to your degree course for £300, and if you pass we’ll give you the money back! If you want to study a language as one of your degree course modules rather than as addition to your course, please check with your degree course team that you can do so. ULP classes take place on the City Campus for two hours per week during term time. Some languages also offer an online-only option.

Languages available:

  • Arabic
  • English as a Foreign Language
  • Business English (for non-native speakers of English)
  • French
  • German
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Mandarin Chinese
  • Spanish

You don’t need to book, just come along to the level 1 forum in the Newton Building at any time between 1200 and 1400 on 17 September.

For more information please visit www.ntu.ac.uk/ulp , email ulp@ntu.ac.uk or call 0115 848 2285
