After this meeting, we will have a social as discussed in our WhatsApp group. This will likely be some food and drink, but could be an activity such as bowling instead.

I'd make an effort to go out with people from halls or to throw yourself into the organised events for non-traditional students. You'll never have the opportunity again to spend an entire week making connections with people - don't waste it!
