What was Welcome Week like for you?

What are your top tips for new students?

  • My favourite place has to be the Arboretum in Nottingham – I normally go with my friends and play sports, read, have picnics, play some music and just chill. It’s beautiful.
  • I checked out a lot of theatre plays in my first year. I went to see a lot of NTU drama productions which were really good, then I joined the drama society and got to see all my friends perform. I have friends who are stand-up comedians, musicians and actors – you can follow your passions.
  • Sober socialising means you can focus more on people and have time to take an interest in their lives. Doing a shared activity will help to build stronger bonds and friendships.
  • Don’t feel any pressure to fit the ‘norm’ whether that’s self-inflicted or from other people. NTU gives you the freedom to be yourself!
