Top quality comedy for mature students!

Join us for a night of comedy, hosted at NTU’s very own Metronome venue – described by many comedians as one of the best venues in the country. Whether you’re looking to unwind, meet fellow mature students, or simply enjoy a good laugh, we would love to see you there.

The line-up for the evening includes Robert White, Kate Martin, Pete Otway, and Jon Pearson – some names you might know, some you’ll be glad to discover – and at just £3 for mature students (normally £15), it’s a great chance to maybe discover your next favourite comedian and enjoy an evening out for a fraction of the price.

We’ll get there in time to enjoy a quick drink, chat and make new friends before the show.

Please meet us at the specified meeting place, don’t go directly to the venue. We’ll make the easy 10-minute walk together.

Any questions? Get in touch!

Student tips

Thoughts and advice from current students on your first few days with us.

My most important message is never feel alone! The University and Students’ Union have amazing help and support teams. We have students that run events, meetings and socials for mature students and students with caring responsibilities. A worry shared is a worry solved, and talking to other mature students and student parents during Welcome Week really made a big difference for me.

I threw myself into everything during Welcome. I went to a BBQ for non-traditional students (international, local, mature, etc) and met some interesting people. If you're living in or out of halls, go to the nights out (even if you're not a drinker) just to be a part of what is going on and to be a part of the usually hilarious stories these nights produce.
