Open dance sessions hosted by Funky Fresh Collective, designed to bring society members together in a shared space for freestyle practice, technique development, and peer-led classes.

Funky Fresh Collective is a student-run dance society that promotes diversity, creativity, and collaboration through street and freestyle dance. Our aim is to build a strong, inclusive community where dancers of all levels can grow, connect, and express themselves — whether through structured classes, freestyle sessions, performances, or social events.

The sessions will include cyphers where dancers can jam, encourage each other, and build confidence in a supportive environment. There will also be opportunities for members or guest instructors to run open-style classes.

These sessions create a relaxed and inclusive space where members can explore their creativity, support each other, and try new styles without pressure. Whether dancing solo, sharing ideas, or learning from one another, it’s a high-energy, positive environment that strengthens the community and keeps dance exciting and accessible.

Student tips

Thoughts and advice from current students on your first few days with us.

I'd make an effort to go out with people from halls or to throw yourself into the organised events for non-traditional students. You'll never have the opportunity again to spend an entire week making connections with people - don't waste it!
